Forge & Faculty | Therapeutic Agreement & Terms

1. The Therapeutic Relationship

  • The Service: Forge & Faculty provides online person-centred counselling.

  • The Goal: This is a collaborative process. While I am a BACP-registered professional, the outcome of therapy depends on our mutual engagement.

  • Ethics: I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

2. Confidentiality & Its Limits

  • Privacy: Everything discussed in our sessions is confidential.

  • Legal Exceptions: In accordance with UK law and BACP ethics, I may need to breach confidentiality if:

    1. I believe you are at risk of serious harm to yourself or others.

    2. I am legally compelled by a court of law.

    3. I become aware of activities related to terrorism, money laundering, or drug trafficking (as per the Proceeds of Crime Act and Terrorism Act).

  • Supervision: As per professional requirements, I discuss my work with a qualified Clinical Supervisor. Your identity is always protected during these consultations.

3. Sessions & Cancellations

  • Duration: Standard sessions are "The Therapeutic Hour" (50 minutes).

  • Cancellations: I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Fees: Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will be charged at the full rate. If there is a genuine emergency then this condition will be waived.

  • Punctuality: If you are late, the session will still end at the scheduled time to remain fair to other clients.

4. Payments & Refunds

  • Rates: My current fees are as stated on the website or agreed upon during our discovery call.

  • Method: Payments are made via bank transfer at least 24 hours before the session.

  • Refunds: Refunds are not provided for sessions already attended.

5. Online Security & Technology

  • Platform: We will use Google Meet, a secure, GDPR-compliant platform.

  • Failure of Tech: In the event of a technical failure, I will attempt to contact you via your provided telephone number to continue the session or reschedule.

  • Environment: You agree to be in a private, safe, and quiet space for the duration of our online session.

6. Crisis & Emergency Support

  • Not an Emergency Service: Forge & Faculty does not provide 24/7 crisis intervention.

  • Crisis Protocol: If you are in immediate danger, you agree to contact NHS 111, your local GP, or the Samaritans (116 123).

7. Data Protection (GDPR)

  • I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

  • Your personal data is stored securely and only used for the purposes of our therapeutic work. You have the right to request a copy of the data I hold about you.
