A Space Where You Lead: Understanding Person-Centred Therapy

In a world that is constantly telling you who to be, how to grieve, or how to "fix" your life, Person-Centred Therapy offers something different: a place where you are the expert on your own experience.

At its heart, this approach is built on the belief that every person has an internal compass. When life hits a "life-quake"—whether through bereavement, financial shock, or trauma—that compass can feel broken or buried under the weight of the world. My job isn't to hand you a map; it's to provide the conditions you need to find your own way forward.

The Core Conditions of Our Work Together

When you sit with me at Forge & Faculty, our sessions are built on three fundamental promises:

  • Total Empathy: I don’t just listen to your words; I aim to understand your world exactly as you see it. There is no "right" way to feel, and nothing you carry is too heavy or too "messy" for us to explore together.

  • Unconditional Positive Regard: You don’t have to edit your story or hide the parts of yourself you feel ashamed of. I offer a non-judgmental space where you are accepted exactly as you are, in this moment, without exception.

  • Real Connection (Congruence): I don’t sit behind a clinical mask. I show up as a real person—grounded, honest, and "unshockable." This human-to-human connection is the "Forge" where real change begins.

Is This Right for You?

If you are tired of being told to "look on the bright side" or feeling like a "case file" to be managed, this approach will feel like a deep breath.

Person-centred therapy doesn’t involve me giving you homework or "diagnosing" you. Instead, it’s a collaborative, evolving conversation. It’s about creating a safe enough relationship that you feel empowered to look at the hard things, process the pain, and eventually, reshape your life on your own terms.

"I am not here to lead you; I am here to walk alongside you until the path becomes clear."
